I prefer tropical fishes. Although my cichlids usually flare their gills at me for not feeding them every minute of the day, they're fun to watch when they don't think you're watching them.

If the cat was black and on one shoulder, it would be my house.

This is too funny and true... though, I seem to get more distracted by emails about cats!! LOL

That's so great! My stepdaughter especially appreciates it since she got clawed but good while studying. Apparently our cat, Clyde, got the handle of a paperbag stuck on his head, came thumping out confused, and scared the living.... feces.... out of the little kitten, Liv (her cat) who proceeded to jump on Sarah, claws out! Owww. Now she looks like a vampire bit her neck. A particularly clumsy vampire! :-)

My parakeet regularly lands on my head or sits on my finger or walks on my keyboard while I work. I think he wants to be a freelance writer too.

All that effort to climb onto his head? My cat lies on my arms and keyboard. It's a surefire way to stop me writing, unless I want her contribution of "cajdjnkkn" in my novel for some reason...

Kitty! *shiny eyes*
A cat wouldn't need to sit on my head/shoulder/keyboard to stop me from writing, or doing whatever I mean to do (including thinking). Just the presence of the cute kittyness is enough for me. I love cats.

As I'm reading this, I'm working (or trying to work) on the couch with my laptop on my lap and my cat snuggled up to my mouse hand...

When he takes a break from napping he likes to chew on my fingers. If I pull away he grabs my hand with both front paws and all 10 claws, so I understand the pain factor too. :)
