Oow the smell of an old automatic typewriter. The tactile feedback of actually punching your words on the paper. The serene hum of the electric engine and the rasping turning of the wheels when you load a new, fresh sheet. And the view of all those typed pages, lying on the desk, showing you made *actual progress*

No spell checker though.
