Weekly Wordcount Check-in: 250, 500, 1000 wds/day

Do you need a wordcount challenge with some leeway?
Check out the challenges below:
250 wds/day | 500 wds/day | 1000 wds/day

So how did you all do with your daily wordcount challenges since the last check-in?

I did very very very poorly this week. Wrote on Monday & Wednesday (how I normally start my weeks, generally I skip Tuesday for Lost). I worked late Tuesday & Thursday, then also worked a short pleasant day on Saturday. I had relatives come in Friday night. From there everything just fell apart. I felt obligated to be social with the other women, but preferred watching the NCAA tournament with the men. So I had to do both.

I hope to do better this week but the boyfriend is talking about visiting. Usually that throws me off. And I'm SOOO close to the end of this story. Plus my team is still in the tournament. Luckily not working late this week (but am working Saturday).

So my totall was probably between 500-600 words for the week. Dismal. Shame.

I strive for 1K words a day. I have been averaging 1500 to 2000 words every day. They are not all profound, some are pretty mundane, but I keep getting my "bones" thrown down and then sometimes rearranged so that they can become real stories. The challenge and my challenge badge hold me to my commitment!

I feel like a workhorse but cherish the feeling. The words are finally being set free.

Ciao!

I'm on editing mode, so who knows how much I've written. Lots I'm guessing. Cut tons too.

I've left an award for you on my blog.

Again, I exceeded the weekly average, but fell short on the write-daily goal. *sigh* Oh well! Got some really good stuff hammered out so I can't complain too much, right? :D

That was much better - recommitting last week appears to have helped.

I finished the mind map of book three so I now have something approaching a gazetteer of my world. The next task is to start in on figuring out the plot holes and so on, although I am not really clear where to start on that.

At some point I will have to start cutting themes too - I have a bad habit of inventing new thematic ideas and piling them into the current book. I've killed one novel that way already; this one will not die like that!

Ah, my word count wasn't so great... actually went down quite a bit. I hit a fork in my book... and went the wrong way, and will be spending this week fixing my mistakes! But the good news is, I've learned that I can get my daily word count of 1000 done because I did it the last few weeks, and having kids running circles around me, and commitments every day don't stop me from getting my writing done, as long as I plan well for the day! :)

Rough week for me. Two days under 1000. It was a week of birthdays in my family - including mine so I got sidetracked a few days. I will do better this week. I did take the 1000 words a day challenge down for a few days and just put it back up Saturday. No more birthdays for a while! YEAH!

Not the best of writing weeks but still I managed to meet my "500 words a day"-goal for four days. Well, there is nothing to do but do better this week.

So now I'm off to write another 100 words because this morning I was interrupted after having written only 396 words. 104 more to go.

My word count was a little lower last week than the week before but I have still hung tough by coming in at 8779 by Saturday (I start my new week on Sunday). I have earned my 1,000 word badge back and will be putting it back on my profile tonight :) It is looking like this week will be a good one as well if yesterday and today is any clue of that :)

I moved from Wordpress to self-hosting and spent the week getting organized and learning the nuances of having to do everything for myself that was once automated. But I wouldn't sacrifice the autonomy for anything. I had to battle a bad bout of sickness as well, but still managed to exceed the weekly mark (1,750) by 484 words. I can only attribute that to perseverance. I was quite certain I'd fall short. This week I'm tackling a few new projects and would like to try my hand at a new feature I've found online. I'll detail it on the site.

It was hit and miss for me this past week, but have to say that without the challenge it would have been all misses! I wrote almost every other day. The every other day shaped into about 500 words each time. Good luck this week everyone!

I refuse to participate in anything that makes me feel bad about myself, which is why I stay away from NaNo. But I have all kinds of respect for those with the discipline to participate.

You should know your blog title ("Daily diversions for writers") is way too tempting to someone like me, by the way.

I averaged 1k per day this past week. Yay!

Dunx, you do mind mapping too?!?!?! How fabulous!
