A little less well than the week before but I still managed to write my 500+ words five times that week. One day I didn't write because I went to a meeting of my writing group (ironically), and the other one I was just too tired from work in the evening. Still, that's more consistent writing than I've ever managed to do apart from NaNoWriMo. I'm happy!
My total to-date is 14,495
Since the last check-in, I believe I've written about 8.5K
Really happy with it so far!!!!!!
I'm at 10k words for the new year so far. Hmmm. Perhaps I should bump down to the 500 words per day challenge.
I'm sorry, but I resign :-(. It is too hard w/ school and my novel. I'll just wait 'till november!
It's going better than I expected! Now that I'm finding a rhythm and keeping myself organized, I'm getting quite a bit accomplished!
17252 total which averages out to 958 words a day.
thanks for creating the challenge...I signed up for Habitforge, downloaded WriteorDie, and for the past four days straight, I've written at least 600 words a day. It may not sound like much but at least I'm writing, there's a goal, and a sense of progress. Wish me luck though!
I failed epically... I didn't officially say that I was going to do it, but I still planned on it. However, then I got a job working three nights a week, in a row. I'm kind of dead those three days, and not much of anything gets done.
Maybe next year, if I don't have this same job.
Hardly a word over the weekend due to travels, but I'm making up for it today! The 500 words a day challenge is still within my writing means.
I am improving everyday. For last week I wrote a little over 6k and as of this post I am at 3,194 and it's only Wednesday. I am off today so I will be writing alot more of course. I just hate that I ccan't apply all to my WriYe challenge. That I am way behind on but I haven't given up on either yet. I have been told my writing is improving greatly by those who have read some of my work over the last year which is outstanding! Now to get brave enough to start summitting to a few sites like Triond.
Thank you for this idea. Now, I'm really able to write everyday. It helps to think that I just have to write 500 words rather than to think that I need to write. The goal gives me less stress and more inspiration. I just started on the 17th (the day I found your blog.) And I'm so happy! I've gone beyond 500 words a day.
To be honest I failed. My computer died for a few days (and I can write by hand, but didn't) and I just started a new job on Saturday (a real full-time salaried job--so hard to come by right now!).
Last night I tried to get back on track to my 250 words a day goal. I got 300+ words but my consistency will be my undoing. I need much goading & harassment, especially with this new job distracting me.
I am meeting my 500 words/day challenge. Sometimes I have to go to sleep later than I want in order to get it done, but I am determined.
You'd think I'd learn not to save it for last.
I'm enjoying this feeling of connection with others who are doing the same thing. I've had a couple days when nothing connected from brain to keyboard but a measly 300 and something. one day nothing at all. I'm letting myself off the hook for that one: doctor's appt. I don't allow myself to get discouraged or I would give up. I've just got to move on to the next day, and see what happens. My best day was 2644.
