3 Questions For Children's Book Illustrators is a project by Debbie Ridpath Ohi featuring mini-interviews with those who illustrate for young people, inspired by Yevgeny Termakov's 5 Questions For 100 Designers.
The goal: to provide advice to aspiring young illustrators and those just starting out in children's book illustration.
Each interview consists of three questions and three answers. Answers can be as short as one sentence, as long as one paragraph (maximum 150 words for each answer). Interviewees are encouraged to answer in such a way that readers can take away something useful and apply it to their own situation.
I'll be gradually approaching established children's book illustrators and will post an archive of mini-interviews on this page as they are posted.
The questions are:
What advice do you wish you could tell your younger self at the beginning of your career?
What are your most useful tools (physical or virtual) or habits that help you in your work?
What online resources or books can you recommend for young illustrators hoping to make a career in children's book illustration?
