So who's going to join me in the 1000 Wds/Day Challenge in 2010?

500words-150w

250words_150w

To those who took up the 1000 wds/day or 500 wds/day challenge last year, how did you do?

And how many of you want to join me in the challenge THIS year? For those who haven't heard of this challenge, the goal is to write 1000 words a day, at least six days a week. If you miss the occasional day or days, that's ok -- the goal is to keep up the motivation even if you sometimes slip up.

Too often, I find that writers start motivational challenges like NaNoWrimo with enthusiasm and good intentions, but give up when they start missing their daily targets for more than a few days in a row…undermining their confidence and defeating the purpose of the original challenge.

You can read more about the 1000 Words A Day Challenge here.

You can also aim to write 500 words a day instead (or you want to drop down from 1000 during the year) or the 250 Words A Day Writing Challenge (just added!).

1,000 words a day it is. Here's to a new year of writing! Good luck to everyone else striving for a daily goal.

I'm in.

Not only that, I have recruited a friend of mine. We have a new philosophy on life and writing (F*k it. We win.) that involves out-stubborning the universe, and this is just up our alley.

Thank you for the challenge -and the buttons!

Hola everyone!

I hearby state that I will be doing the 250 word challenge. Starting today. I even brought my laptop to the Laundrette, so I can write while waiting for my coloureds to wash. :)

I'm picking the 1,000 words a day challenge. It really does get easier once you stick to a routine, and don't get up until you've finished. Hopefully my family will get the hint and leave me to it.

I snagged up th 1000 word a day challenge. I did 500 last year and it was a little too easy for me.

I'll be trying the 250 and going from there. What an excellent idea! :D

I'm in. Probably 500 words/day. Also doing a challenge to write every day for 1st 32 days of the year.

I love the flexibility! I often write over 1000 words in e-mails and responses to blogs. I'm sure I do over 250 words in my journal.

Debbie, I think we met somewhere online, nearly 10 years, and of course I don't remember where. Maybe it was in conjunction with my e-zine, Writer Advice, which used to be called Haven's List. Do you remember?

I'm joining got to finish my NaNoWriMo Novel. Am currently on 65,000 words with target set of 100,000 ..... would like it better if it was 2,000 words a day though ;)

I'm a little late for New Year's resolutions, but count me in for the 500 day challenge!

A video has about 15-30 seconds to convince me that I should watch it in real time rather than reading something that tells me the same thing.
